  • Should I get a bridal trial?
Ideally yes. I like to meet you and discuss your requirements for the type of look/image you require and apply your make-up so you can see and feel how you are going to look on your wedding day. It's also a good opportunity to get to know each other too. However there are occasions, where you may live out of the North Down area or that Bridal Makeup is booked at short notice, it really isn't a problem as I can usually allow extra time on the day for a consultation. If this is the case, don't panic, because of the experience I have, I am good at interpreting Brides ideas and if you would feel more comfortable, you can look in the mirror as we go along so you can see how you are looking, I will always check with you that your make-up feels comfortable and that you are happy!
  • How do I prepare for the wedding day / trial?
For your consultation and trial, if you have any ideas of what makeup look you would like it would be useful to email me some pictures, either from the internet or magazines. This will help when discussing looks, but please don't worry if you are unsure as to what to go for, I can make plenty of suggestions! If you have a photo of your dress, it will help me to see what style you are going for. I can create many styles of make-up, anything from very glamorous with smokey eyes to an 'English Rose' which is pretty, fresh and natural. For your trial it's best to not wear any make-up. I will go through any skin care routines with you, should you think that you need help with this, and also advise you which other treatments you may benefit from too, ie: eyelash tinting or false lashes etc. It's a good idea too if you can wear a similar colour top to your dress, as this helps to reflect the colour back into your face and helps you to see what it will look like! On the day of the wedding, please do not have any makeup on, just cleansed skin.
  • How long does a makeup trial take?
Please allow two hours, this will give us plenty of time for a consultation and make-up application, and any 'tweaking' if needs be, such as changing lip colour or adding more blusher. Once we are happy with your make-up, I will take photos, and make notes of your make-up so I can easily re-create your look on the day.
  • I want to get a spray tan before the wedding will it affect the makeup?
I will be able to change your base colour to match your new skin colour/tone. I have a full range of shades in my kit so no need to worry! If you have any concerns I would suggest that you have a spray tan a few days before your trial to see what your make-up will look like with your new tan.
  • Do you do hair also?
I have started to offer hair and makeup packages including loose curls , simple upstyles and braids for longer hair. Otherwise I can highly recommend Hair by Briony who I work along side.
  • What makeup brands do you use?
I stock BPerfect and JAMM. CO products in my shop. Additionally in my makeup kit I use high definition and long lasting products. This includes NARS, MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Makeup Studio, Makeup Forever and Makeup Atelier to name a few. On your wedding day I will only use products that photograph highly and do not provide ‘flashback’.
  • What hygiene precautions do you take?
I take all the necessary hygiene precautions. To see the full COVID guidance click here. A clean set of brushes is used for each client. The makeup station and chair are sterilised in between clients. My full kit is wiped down in between clients as well. I follow hand washing hygiene and provide hand sanitiser for my clients. Disposable wands and spatulas are used with the products.
  • Are you insured?
    Yes I am fully insured.
  • I really don’t know how I want my makeup to look, can you send me pictures?"
The best place to start looking for makeup inspiration is on Pinterest or Instagram. If you are unsure why not look at my previous makeup clients on Facebook and Instagram. Please bear in mind some of the looks created by makeup artists on Instagram are not realistic and would take hours to recreate so please always show me pictures of your desired makeup look.
  • Refunds
All appointments are secured by a deposit which comes off the final total. Once the appointment is made a refund will not be offered. In the event you need to cancel your appointment a makeup voucher may be provided at my discretion .
